Following today’s AGM, the six leagues’ representatives discussed the league rounds for 2021/2022. No final decision has been made as to how the league rounds will run, as there may be restrictions at the time. However whether it is face-to-face or a virtual competition, it is intended that unless pools are closed there will be some form of league competition in October, November and December 2021.
The proposal is that, if it is face-to-face then the rounds will take place on 9th/10th October, 13th/14th November and 11th/12th December 2021. If it has to be virtual, then those dates will be tweaked to cover a longer period to use club training sessions for a week.
The basic competition programme will be the same as in the past. It is anticipated that there will be the national finals in Cardiff on the weekend of 5th/6th March 2022.
Nationally it has been decided that there will not be any promotions/relegations to or from divisions within each league based on the 2021/2022 results. The intention is to have as many teams as possible participating even if they cannot field a full team.
The executive committee will have meetings and will update the clubs over the next few months.
Solo Sport the UK agents for arena are fully supportive of the League for the 2021/2022 competition.
