Wyre Forest - Round Three 2014

Saturday night and Wyre Forest were off to Nuneaton for the Final of Division 2 of the National Arena League. It was an amazing night made extra special by our own GB swimmer, Amy Smith, who competed as a Forester once again.  All of team Forest were left in awe at her performances on the night and the swimmers have been greatly inspired. Wyre Forest finished in third place behind Blythe Barracudas and Wolverhampton to gain, much coveted, promotion to division 1 next year, along with fourth placed Mansfield.

When asked about her weekend with Family Forest, Amy said 'It was a real pleasure to be back at Wyre Forest swimming Club again, and working on technique with many of the swimmers there. Everyone got involved to try some new drills, and swimmers, coaches, and parents all made me feel very welcome. I was lucky enough to be asked to race with them again at the Arena league the following night, I really enjoyed the evening as did my parents who came to watch. There was a fantastic team atmosphere, and it was great to be racing in a Wyre Forest hat again.'

First places went to Sam Osborne 13/u 100m Butterfly and 13/u 100m Freestyle, Abbie Rowley 13/u 100m Freestyle, Amy Smith Open 100m Freestyle, Ladies Open 6x50m Relay – Megan Tinsdale, Emma Elwell, Emma Osborne, Rosie Lane, Abbie Rowley and Amy Smith.
