Round 1 National Arena Swimming League Victory for NDSC

Newbury District Swimming Club provided an exciting Saturday night’s entertainment in the first fixtures of this year’s National Arena Swimming League, winning their first round tie in South Division One West in great style.

In a tough draw, which included Portsmouth Northsea and Winchester City Penguins, Newbury secured an impressive 18 wins across all age groups to triumph with a total of 243 points. Portsmouth Northsea were second with 230, Winchester City Penguins third with 220, Dorking fourth with 139, hosts Tilehurst fifth with 125 and Farnham sixth with 82.

Newbury are now in an superb equal first points position in the league table, with Basingstoke Bluefins A, an excellent starting point for Round 2, which will be held in Reading on Saturday 9th November, where Newbury have a favourable Lane 3 draw.
